Scenarios
The restoration of a database backup for the STOLL PPS by an administrator took a long time. During this time the STOLL PPS was not usable, but the production on the machines managed by the system continued. Starting with the work at the STOLL PPS, the data of the STOLL PPS will display a time difference regarding the current reality on the machines. The system restoration function of the STOLL PPS detects this and carries out an automatic adjustment with all the machines.
A STOLL PPS server that was shortly switched off due to a system maintenance, an update or a system failure is no longer synchronized with the reality on the machines. The system restoration function of the STOLL PPS restores this state.
A network segment of the company was disconnected from the net and was not accessible for the STOLL PPS during some hours. This applies to approx. 200 machines, where the production continued during the failure until there were no further orders. After solving the failure, the machines get again visible and usable for the STOLL PPS. The STOLL PPS noticed that the machines were not available meanwhile and will perform a system restoration for each one individually. During this restoration no actions can be executed on the machine using the PPS interface.
