Import devices from the SNS into the STOLL PPS management

Here, you will determine, which devices of your network are to be managed by the STOLL PPS:

    Select Devices from the menu bar.

    Select the SNS import tab.
  1. The view for the SNS import appears.
  2. The list (1) displays the devices managed by the STOLL PPS.
  3. The list (3) displays the devices managed by the SNS.
    A selection of further devices from the SNS is possible

    A toolbar (2) enables the transfer of machines from the SNS to the STOLL PPS.

    Select one or more devices to be transferred from the list (3).
    Devices represented in (3) gray are already imported.

    Click the button in the toolbar (2).
  1. The selected devices are transferred to the STOLL PPS management.
    The devices added can be assigned to a room in the device room-assignment and positioning.

If the PPS detects a conflict when importing, a dialog with the import machine and the machines that are in conflict. The reason of conflict appears in red. The reason may be that the same IP, MAC address or the UID is used. The conflict can be solved. You can select whether you want to continue maintaining this historical data of the conflict machine or you want to park them internally.

Optionally, you can remove a machine that can no longer be managed and that blocks the import with the delete button (2).

Its historical data is deleted from the PPS.
After that, the import is to be carried out again.

Conflict causes and their solution

No longer existing machine

  1. A machine that does not exist any more, but is still imported as the same IP or MAC address or UID as the machine to be imported.

    Export no longer existing machine.

    Import new machines.
  1. The conflict solution dialog appears.
    You can transfer the history from the exported machine to the new one.

    Click Apply history of machines with the same UID if the button is not grayed out.

    Click of the machine marked green.

    Click Execute import.
  1. The new machine is imported.

Parked machine or exchanged IPC

  1. A machine that was parked, has the same IP, MAC address or UID as the machine to be imported.
  2. You removed an IPC from a machine and use the assembly in another machine.

    Trigger the import of the new machine.

    You can transfer the history from the parked machine to the new one.
    Click at the last machine of the list.

    Click Do not apply history.

    Click Execute import.
  1. The new machine is imported.

EVP expired or machine removed from the SNS

  1. A machine with an expired EVP exists and previously to the expiration, it had the same IP, MAC address or UID as the machine to be imported . This configuration was transferred to another machine.
  2. Perhaps the conflict machine is still registered in the SNS.

    Trigger the import of the new machine.
  1. The conflict solution dialog appears and displays the conflict machine.

    Note the machine and close the dialog box.

    Export the machine and remove the machine in the deletion dialog if the conflict machine is not to receive an EVP prolongation,

    Reimport the new machine.
  3. If a conflict is displayed again, the conflict machine may still be registered in the SNS.

    Remove machine from SNS.

    Wait for 10 minutes and re-import the new machine.
