How to register a new file server quickly

You register an additional computer the fastest way on this desired computer.

  1. The computer is networking
  2. The computer has access to the Nameserver

    Call up the Nameserver application in the browser.

    Call up the Register this Client as File Server function.

    Confirm the Windows prompt concerning the download.
  1. regsns.exe is executed.

    Select the Stitch Nameserver and the network adapter (with IP address).

    Confirm selection.
  2. The dialog box is closed.
    The computer appears in the Default group.

    Allocate the computer to the desired group via the Move to Group picklist.

    Adjust properties.
  1. The computer is listed within the desired group with the desired properties.

Share Directories of the File Server:

In order to enable the networking machines to access files on this File Server you have to share the corresponding directory.

To do so knowledge of the user, groups and permissions is necessary.
