SKR Central Unit
The Stoll-knit report® software includes a Polling-Client, called the SKR central unit.
For compatibility reasons, the central unit knows the SKR2 and the new SKR3 mode.
The SKR2 mode communicates with the machines via the TCP/IP interface.TCP/IP
The SKR3 mode uses the knitFTP interface for it.
The SKR central unit has the following tasks:
- Event collection
- The SKR central unit cyclically fetches events from the machine or from the event management of the machine.
- Event storage
- The SKR central unit enters the events in the corresponding table of the live database (PostgreSQL). Each machine has separate tables for event records in order to ensure selection.
- The SKR2 central unit reports the successful entry of an event in the live database to the machine. The SKR3 central unit does not do it, as the machine is equiped with a Ring Buffer, which can supply several SKR3 central units.
- The SKR central unit sends time synchronization commands to the machine.
- The SKR central unit administers the list of machines to be queried.
- The SKR central unit writes log messages into a log file.
- Administration with administrator programs
- Administering the list of machines to be queried (IP address)
- Defining and administering user-defined events
- Backing up of the database (live Backup)
- Recovery of a backup
- Defragmenting the database
- Displaying the log files
