Setting back the Restrictive Safety Settings of Windows Vista
You have to allow the access to some specific ports and programs of the Windows Firewall to run the online-functions of the M1.
Consult Windows Vista Help and Support or your local network service provider on the Windows Firewall.
-
KnitLAN:
The FTP access (TCP Port 21) to the KnitLAN directories (D:\Stoll\M1\KnitLAN\Bootfiles and Mc-ReadWrite) must be open to run the online connection to OKC machines. - Permission access to a network for machines previous to ST468 (with Windows 95):
At the moment Windows Vista does not allow the access to shared directories for machines previous to ST468.
Install the shared directories on another computer(Windows 2000 or XP).
-
Online Functions:
Online (exept KnitLAN) is only possible for the first user logged in.
Do not log-in further users if they shall have onlice access.
A user must be logged-in if machines shall use online functions like the MCXSERVER on the M1.
- Unblock MCXSERVER
Confirm the Windows Safety Allert with Unblock after installing the M1 software and restart.
