Single Server and Multi Server

Normally, PPS, SKR3 and SNS are installed on a server PC.

• PPS Server Suite and SKR3 must be installed on the same PC.
• The actively used SNS can also be installed on another PC in order to relieve the PPS server PC in case of many machines.
  As the Apache Server of the SNS also takes care of rewriting the URL http://StollServerPC/pps to http://StollServerPC:8080/pps, this convenience is eliminated, if the SNS is not installed on the StollServerPC. The possibility of using secure https connections to the PPS, which the Apache server establishes with the corresponding setup, would be eliminated as well. Therefore, the simultaneous installation of the SNS is always recommended, even if it is not used actively then. Then, the other SNS server must be entered in the PPS and on the other machines. Use it also for additional files (images, HTML files) for a ticket view if they are supposed to be provided by the SNS. (Save them here C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\PpsDocs\CustomerWeb and reference them in to the tickets).

If the SNS is to be installed on another PC, start the setup program and under the programs to be installed leave the check mark only at the SNS.

Due to the freely configurable folders in the PPS the patterns and machine data can also be provided via another server in the network. This relieves the PPS server as well.

Depending on the hardware and on the number of machines used, the PPS server can reasonably be relieved this way. With good PC hardware it should be possible to use 200-300 machines at the PPS without limitations. It depends on the individual case, if the system needs to be scaled.
