Performance and Scaling
Hard disk installations
The expansion to several SSD[1-4] data disks results in a good load distribution and fast access times to the four databases of the PPS system.
Minimum installation with at least two SSD hard disks:
- one SSD[0] system disk
- one SSD[1] data disk.
The PPS system installs four databases:
-
DB1:
Primary SKR-DB -
DB2:
Secondary SKR-DB -
DB3:
PPS-DB -
DB4:
Postgres-DB
Possible distribution of four databases onto the SSDs installed in the PC

Starting with 500 machines, a 1 TB SSD data disc of the performance class Samsung 950 Pro NVMe M.2 PCIe 3.0 or Intel 750 NVMe PCIe 3.0 is required. Raid 0, Raid 5, Raid 10 arrays are recommended with more than 750 machines. Raid 5 and Raid 10 offer a faster data exchange as well as a better failure safety. With these SSD types a distribution of DB1-4 is not necessary.
ECC RAM
RAM with error correction ECC, 16GB or more, at least DDR3-1600 up to 500 machines and more DDR4-2133 or superior.
