General information
With reporting, we distinguish between report types, report files, report templates and reports.
Report Types
Report types are report classes supported by the PPS, which have the same set up possibilities (parameters).
The following report types are available:
- Efficiency Report
- Event List
- Expected Quantities
- Production Report
- Stop History
- Stop Motion Statistic
- Yarn Consumption
Report Templates
Report templates are in fact the objects, the user can create. For each report type there can be created any number of report templates. These can be found on the overview page in the list on the right. The report templates are based on one report type and one report file each, have a time period, a set of machines and further secondary report parameters. They can be generated and saved in the PPS by the user. (Create Report Template)
Each template contains mandatory fields(*) and optional specifications:
- Title*
- Report Type*
- Report File*
- Time Period*
- Machines*
- For some types as well:
Grouping* - Description, etc.
- The time period can be selected fixed or variable.
Available as variable options: - Last Week
- Next Week
- Month
- Year
- Whether the report is oriented to the past or the future depends on the selected type.
- With a variable time period, there will be used the corresponding times that refer to the current moment during the creation of the report.
Report Files
The report files define the appearance of the reports to be generated and determine which data will be represented and how.
For one report type there can be several report templates with different report files.
The report files must be saved in a directory that can be selected in the configuration. Determining the directory of report templates
- rptdesign is the file name extension of report files
- The files were created with the Birt editor and delivered by Stoll.
- The files must be suitable for the report types!
- After selecting a report type, only the appropriate report files are displayed in the selection box.
All the rptdesign files that contain the report type with the English term will be displayed. - The report directory may not have any sub-folders.
Sub-folders will be ignored! - Report files can be created by the user.
- However, the syntax of the XML format must be strictly observed and the report file must match the parameters of the calling URL and the used data base query (Stored Procedure).
Reports
The reports are the concrete output objects of the reporting. They are generated based on report templates and can then be exported to different formats (like HTML or PDF).
Based on a template it is possible to generate a report at any time. A report is a copy of a template, where the data of the template is applied, the variable time period is specified and the current data is used.
- Based on the same template different reports can therefore be generated at different times. On one hand it is, for example, the (variable) time period can be from another day and the underlying data can also have changed.
- The report is opened in a new browser tab and displayed with the Birt Viewer. Therefore, it has a somewhat different design than the PPS.
- A report contains tables or graphical data.
A report can extend over several pages. - An export is possible.
