How to Use SKR2 and SKR3 in Parallel
If you already are using the SKR2 for your Stoll knitting machines and want to shift to the SKR3, it is possible to upgrade your machine to an operating system supporting the PPS (V 6.2) and login simultaneously to a SKR3 and a SKR2 central unit. This allows you to change over an existing software, which is based on the MySQL database for SKR2, to SKR3 and PostgreSQL the database during the transition period.
Shut down the SKR2 software then.
SKR2 and SKR3 can not be installed together on one PC.
- The operating system of the participant machines supports PPS
- 1
- Include the machine in the SKR3 administration the same way you know how to do it with the SKR2 central unit
- 2
- Enter the user events as configured in the SKR central unit also in the SKR2 central unit.
- The time synchronization and the user events are aligned by the one SKR central unit which was the first connecting to the machine. When you restart the SKR central unit, the leading central unit may change. You can not specify the leading central unit directly.
- The events of the machines will now be saved in both data bases.
- Machines with an operating system before V 6.1 can also be operated at SKR3, however, not in parallel at SKR2. For this purpose, disable an existing connection to the SKR2 in the Knit Report configuration window and then add the machine to the SKR3.
