Repairing the installation

Your PPS installation might be damaged for example due to problems with the hard disk drive and you want to reinstall the PPS.
Before reinstalling PPS, by all means contact Stoll because of the very complex processes. Back up all files e.g. pattern files, your own ticket templates, access settings to the database, tickets, etc. Back up also the database statuses.
For backing up the database, use the Data Backup program (see How to Backup the PPS Database) and store the backup on a safe location.
NOTICE! Close all programs, as the setup programm otherwise may be prevented from exchanging blocked files.

How to start the repair installation:

    Starting to uninstall.
    Execute the setup.bat file.
    In the directory of the PPS Server Suite installation files (for example C:\PpsInstallationFiles)

    confirm the browser prompts.

  1. In the browser appears the home page of the PPS installation.

    Click on the Production Planning System to execute the setup program.

    Or execute c:\PpsInstallationFiles\PPSSetup\ directly in the setup.exe directory.

Welcome dialog when starting the repair

    Select Repair and click on Next.
  1. All components are removed and installed again.
    In a folder like D:\PPS\PpsJBossServer\PpsServerInstallScripts\PpsLast\ PpsSwUsedTillSetup_2016-06-02_22_04_02 with the current timestamp important files and the files changed by you will be backed up before replacing them.

    When installing the SNS, retain the Repair preselection.
  3. When the prompt appears asking whether the SNS database is to be replaced, select No if you assume that the SNS database is not damaged. If you want to start with a new database, select Yes. In case you used the database backup program you will be able to recover a SNS database status from there.

    During SKR Repair you will be asked, whether the SKR and PPS database are to be deleted.
  5. When the prompt appears asking whether the SKR and the PPS database are to be deleted, select No if you assume that the Postgres database is not damaged. If you want to start with a new database, select Yes.
    In case you used the database backup program you will be able to recover a Postgres database status from there.
  1. The PPS server is newly installed.
