The needle bed is cleaned daily by the operator. In addition, it must be cleaned thoroughly every 12 to 26 weeks.

If the needle bed it not cleaned thoroughly and carefully, a non-uniform stitch appearance results during production due to needles that do not run smoothly, and the operation of the machine can no longer be ensured.

Thoroughly cleaning the needle bed:

  1. No fabric may be hanging on the needle bed.
  2. The required tools (groove cleaner and extraction hook) are included with the accessories.

    Remove screws (2) on the left and right-hand sides of needle bed. Use the special hexagon screwdriver from the accessories for this purpose.
  1. Removing additional beds

    Remove linking of additional beds (1) on both sides of machine by loosening screws.

    Move additional needle beds (3) approx. 10 cm to side and remove upward.

    Push the locking plate (4) downward.
  2. Thorough cleaning of the needle bed

    Remove all needle rails (5) with the extraction hook (7).

    Remove needles, coupling part, intermediate slider and selector jacks.

Dirt-caked needle channels due to oil or cleaning agent!

When the needle channels are cleaned with oil or cleaning agent, the dirt swells up and clogs the needle channels.

  1. Do not clean needle channels with oil or cleaning agent.
  2. Push dirt out of needle channels and blow out needle channels with compressed air.

    Push dirt out of needle channels with groove cleaner (6).

    Clean groove for pelerine spring of needle.

    Blow out dirt with compressed air from the needle bed.

    Check whether needles, coupling part, intermediate slider and selector jacks are undamaged.

    Clean needles, coupling part, intermediate slider and selector jacks with oil or diesel fuel.

    Reassembly needle bed.

    Lubricate needles, coupling part, intermediate slider and selector jacks.
